Training for Riding Age Equines

In house training of unstarted, green or previously saddle trained horses ages 2 and a half years or older. Sessions last between 45 minutes to 1 hour depending on the ‘lesson’ of the day, the horses age, fitness, etc. Horses going off property for schooling experiences (trail riding, schooling shows etc) will use 2 sessions plus cost of fuel.

Training also includes photo and/or video journaling (published to a web page viewable by the owner).

What gets covered in the sessions can be discussed ahead of time, depending on the owner’s goals, if the horse has specific behavior or physical issues, etc. We can tailor a program that suits you and your horse be it specific discipline/sport related schooling, general education schooling or simply fitness building. In house training does not include boarding.

  • 4 days per week (or 16 sessions per month), pre-paid for the month – $ 272.00
  • 3 days per week (or 12 sessions per month), pre-paid for the month – $ 228.00
  • 2 days per week (of 8 sessions per month), pre-paid for the month – $ 160.00

Desensitizing training - Tiara Twist

Why is your training program set up in an ala carte way (not all ‘inclusive’ pricing)?

Good question! This gives the participating, local owner a chance to minimize their expenses by cleaning their own stall, bringing their own feed, or actually DOING some of the exercising of the horse!

*does not include boarding/food, all horses/foals must be ‘tame’ and at least controlable under good circumstances

Nasal Breathers
Horses are ‘obligate nasal breathers’, which means they can only breathe through their nose. Since they are grazing prey animals, this trait helps prevent the aspiration of food if they have to flee quickly.
